Chapter Two: "Everybody Struggles"

Chapter Two: "Everybody Struggles"

Outreachy Internship

Entering my third week as an Outreachy intern with the Wikimedia Foundation project has been quite the journey. The initial weeks were more than just "interesting" – they were a blend of excitement and nerves that words can't quite capture.

Navigating the realm of something new always comes with its share of challenges. As I dove into my project with the Wikimedia Foundation, I encountered a number of unfamiliar terms. Initially, I attempted to decipher them on my own, but my progress was slower than expected.

It dawned on me that my mentors were the key to unraveling these complexities. Opting to seek their guidance turned out to be a game-changer. Their full support propelled me forward, enabling significant strides in my project.

Remember, everyone faces hurdles, especially when stepping into uncharted territory. Embracing the learning curve is part of the process. Asking questions, and not just any questions but the right ones, proved to be a wise strategy.

As James Stephens aptly puts it, "We get wise by asking questions, and even if these are not answered, we get wise, for a well-packed question carries its answer on its back as a snail carries its shell."

A friendly reminder: When things get tough, don't be too hard on yourself. People are more understanding than you might think, and a helping hand is often just a question away.

In the wise words of Lena Horne, "It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it." So, carry it with resilience, curiosity, and the willingness to seek guidance. You've got this! 🚀💡
